This highly comprehensive course is nationally accredited by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) with compliance of the national standards for massage practitioners. Learners will be taught how to deal with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems utilizing basic and advanced massage techniques. A strong emphasis is placed on anatomy and physiology as well as symptomatology and diagnosis. A remedial massage practitioner has the ability to provide a comprehensive treatment plan based on his/her ability to determine the underlying cause of many musculoskeletal problems. It helps them better determine indications and contra-indications of Remedial Massage and to assist in the development of treatment strategies.
It covers remedial massage techniques for individual areas of the body. The techniques can then be utilized as part of a specific treatment protocol or can be added to the basic massage sequence as needed. This module is also designed to introduce to the student basic musculoskeletal examination techniques.
